The U.S. postage stamps depicting the flora and fauna in Rocky Mountain National Park were unveiled this morning in a ceremony at the park’s Beaver Meadows Visitor Center.

The 41-cent Alpine Tundra stamps — available in panes of 10 — show more than 24 species native to ecosystems above 12,000 feet. Park and postal officials, along with the stamp artist and designer, John Dawson, were at the dedication.

First-day-of-issue souvenir stamps with Estes Park postmarks will be available at the event. The pane, depicting a summer scene at the park, also will be sold at post offices beginning today.
