BOULDER, Colo.—The Boulder County coroner says a woman found dead in her home had been stabbed several times in the neck and chest.
Police found the body of 36-year-old Laura Swan on the kitchen floor Monday, shortly after her ex-husband called authorities to say he had been involved in a domestic dispute.
Boulder County Coroner Thomas Faure has ruled the death a homicide.
An arrest report says 45-year-old Alfred Michael Strauss told police he and Swan had divorced in 2005, but reconciled in December. They were living together in the home with their two boys, ages 2 and 4.
Strauss says the children were in day care at the time of the stabbing.
A hearing is scheduled Wednesday to determine if Strauss will continue to be held without bond.
The children are in protective custody.
