Lafayette — Six people including a driver were sent to the hospital Wednesday night when a semi-truck smashed into the rear of an RTD bus at a bus stop and then drove off.
Police caught up with the truck driver a short time later on U.S. 26, near Wadsworth, RTD spokesman Scott Reed said.
None of those sent to area hospitals suffered life-threatening injuries, Reed said.
The crash occurred about 6 p.m., when the Bolt Route bus, which runs between Boulder and Lafayette, was unloading passengers at South Boulder Road and Centaur Village Drive.
Five passengers and the driver suffered mostly neck and back injuries and were rushed to area hospitals, Reed said.
Lafayette police are investigating.
