
Feud? What feud? David Letterman will make his first appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” next month, another sign the talk-show titans have buried the hatchet after a rift that lasted more than a decade. Their reconciliation began in 2005 when Winfrey appeared on CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman.” It was Winfrey’s first guest appearance with Letterman, though she twice appeared on his NBC show before the comic jumped networks in 1993. Letterman frequently joked about Winfrey, and in 2003, Winfrey told Time magazine she wouldn’t appear with Letterman because she had been “completely uncomfortable” as the target of his jokes.
Owen Wilson, hospitalized last Sunday after an apparent suicide attempt, has dropped out of the upcoming ensemble comedy “Tropic Thunder.” The 38-year-old actor will not appear in the DreamWorks movie, already six weeks into production in Hawaii. Sources told The Associated Press that Wilson was to have a cameo role in the film. “Tropic Thunder” stars Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr., and Ben Stiller, who is also directing.
Amy Winehouse won’t be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards, or anywhere else in the United States anytime soon. The British retro-soul singer was to perform at the Sept. 9 event in Las Vegas, but her U.S. record label, Universal Republic Records, said Wednesday that all U.S. appearances have been canceled “in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse’s well-being.”
The Hilton sisters were seen staying up all night, partying at Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas recently, reports. Paris and Nicky literally hopped around to the beat, with Paris even taking time to shake hands.
