A Catholic high school in Broomfield has disciplined a student after a classroom discussion on immigration and Spanish lessons ended with that student repeatedly saying the phrase “white power.”
The incident happened Tuesday at Holy Family High School, at West 144th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
The school denies media reports that several students joined in chanting the words.
In a class of approximately 30 students, fewer than six students voiced strong anti-immigration opinions, the school said.
At the end of the discussion, one student said “white power” two or three times, officials said. Most of the class did not hear the comments, they said.
