Musicians Asfaw Jebjeb and Kindeya Teklehaimanot

Ras Dashin Hall and Ethiopian Restaurant

16251 E. Colfax Ave., Aurora

Suppressed for decades by a conservative military junta, Ethiopian music is beginning to thrive beyond its borders, especially the lively Ethiopian take on jazz that Jim Jarmusch used in his 2005 film “Broken Flowers.” The highly danceable, sprightly riffs of Asfaw Jebjeb and Kindeya Teklehaimanot can be heard live at this restaurant and music venue, a popular destination for the Front Range’s sizable Ethiopian community, whose members are more than happy to share the tunes with others.
