Cheermobile Greeley’s Hank DePetro embraces Katheryn Armstrong, 40, one of his former special-needs students at Greeley West High School. In the background is Justin Morrison, 20. The students gathered Aug. 30 at DePetro’s home to help him finish work on a 1949 Ford pickup they’ve converted into the “Lean Mean Bronco Machine.” The group has spent the past 11 months repainting it for the pro football season. Last year, if the Broncos were winning a game, the truck team would drive around town celebrating. If the Broncos were losing, the truck stayed in its parking space.
