DENVER—Barry Bonds hit the 762nd home run of his career with two outs in the first inning Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies.
The San Francisco Giants slugger hit a 1-2 pitch from right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez to deep left, scoring Nate Schierholtz. It was Bonds’ 28th homer of the year.
Jimenez became the 449th different pitcher to allow a home run to Bonds.
He has 54 career home runs against Colorado and three this year against the Rockies.
Bonds hit his record-breaking 756th home run off Mike Bacsik of the Washington Nationals on Aug. 7.
