Greeley — Danny Woodhead scored three touchdowns as Division II Chadron State rolled to a 31-0 win Saturday over Northern Colorado.
Woodhead finished with 147 yards rushing against Northern Colorado of the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly Division I-AA. Woodhead, last year’s Harlon Hill Trophy as the top player in Division II, also caught five passes for 133 yards.
Joe McLain was 19-for-28 passing for 265 yards and an interception for Chadron State. He also had a 1-yard run for a touchdown.
Woodhead scored his first TD on a two-yard run with 5:02 left in the first quarter and scored again four minutes later on a 21-yard pass from McLain. The Eagles led 28-0 by halftime.
Quarterback Mike Vlahogeorge took most of the snaps Saturday for Northern Colorado, a week after a 63-6 loss to then-No. 23 Hawaii when he was the backup. He finished 10-for-21 passing for 80 yards and an interception Saturday.
Dominic Breazeale, who had 51 yards passing and one interception against Hawaii, was 2-for-4 for 11 yards Saturday.
