The Denver Broncos and Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver will together open a teen center in Aurora as a memorial to former Broncos’ defensive back Darrent Williams, who was killed early this year, the team said.

The Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center will open in 2008 as part of the Broncos Boys and Girls Club in Montbello. The center will include a life-size bronze statue of Williams that will be sculpted by artist Ed Dwight, said donor Doug Morton. Morton and his wife Marilyn Brown will help pay for the statue.

Dwight will involve teens from the center in the creation of the memorial in order to teach them about the process, the Broncos said.
