The former lover of a Denver woman was charged in federal court with blackmail for allegedly using nude photos he took of her as leverage if she did not pay him money, according to an arrest affidavit.
Richard J. Kurtz, 61, of New Jersey, known by the victim as Lawrence Solomon, has not yet been arrested on the charge, federal records show.
The victim went into the Denver FBI office and told agents that she met Solomon on an online dating service and chatted with him for three months.
In August, he moved in with the woman in Denver and began taking pictures of her while she was taking a shower without her permission, the affidavit says.
“(The victim) asked Solomon to give her the camera and film, which he refused,” the FBI agent wrote in his report.
When the couple broke up, the woman asked for the film in an e-mail.
The FBI affidavit says Solomon left the victim e-mail and voice-mail messages that said he wanted $750 from her and that he threatened to show the photos to her rabbi and her work associates.
