Authorities arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the fatal, gang-related shooting of Steven Anthony Marble, 24, in Laporte over the weekend.
Calvin Allen Bennett is in custody and faces charges of first-degree murder, Larimer County sheriff’s investigators said.
Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related based on nicknames used by the people involved. Detectives said some of those involved have gang affiliations from the past based on tattoos and interviews. More arrests are possible, investigators said.
The coroner said Marble, who was from Greeley, was shot six times with a 9-mm semi-automatic handgun.
Marble was shot just after 9:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Branding Iron Liquor Store, 3212 W. County Road 54G.
Another victim, who has not been identified, was stabbed in the incident. That person is recovering at a local hospital.
