Woody doesn’t get it
I am a Rockies fan and have been since Day One at Mile High Stadium. Like most fans, I suffered in
silence as Woody Paige kicked a good dog while it was down.
The Dan “O’Dud” comments and the constant ripping on the Monforts were brutal. Woody was the all-seeing, all-knowing prophet. Only he seemed to understand the problem and had the answers.
September has brought Colorado a team with a real chance of winning a wild-card playoff berth. September has shown us the Rockies are for real. They have the nucleus to be a consistent playoff contender the next five years. The Rockies are one good starting pitcher from being a World Series contender. And they did it the right way.
They ate payroll. They spent money on the farm system. They gave the kids time to mature.
Woody took pleasure in beating up on the Rockies. It was nasty and it was personal. Now that the Rockies have proved they are for real, he has become preoccupied with Broncos mania and ignores the best sports story in town.

Punishing the Patriots
Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 and potentially a first-round draft choice for spying tactics. That’s nothing.
Does the Patriots’ owner, Robert Kraft, have something on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell? I guess it depends on who the team is and who the owner is when it comes to the severity of punishment.
