Ricky Weber’s 77-yard punt return Saturday night helped Eaglecrest earn a 45-34 victory over Boulder at Christian Recht Field in a Class 5A Centennial League opener.

Weber also returned a kickoff 50 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter in Eaglecrest’s first victory of the season. The Raptors (1-2, 1-0) also got 222 yards rushing and a touchdown from Terrel Thompson.

Kain Colter passed for 223 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers (0-3, 0-1).

ABRAHAM LINCOLN 17, ARVADA 14: Sean Williams’ two touchdown runs, including one in the fourth quarter, led the Lancers over the Reds in 4A nonleague play.

The Lancers (2-1), playing at home at All-City Stadium, also got a 45-yard field goal from Javier Ruiz with 3:48 remaining that was the difference. For Arvada (0-3), Mike Vaughn caught an 85-yard touchdown pass and threw for another.

PLATTE CANYON 58, SHERIDAN 6: In Bailey, A.J. Melillo returned the game’s opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and the Huskies (3-0), ranked No. 6 in The Denver Post/9News 2A poll, had no trouble in rolling over the Rams in a nonleague game.

Platte Canyon also rushed for seven touchdowns, three by Ben Wegener. Shelby Edwards, Blaze Eisele, Michael Pollack and Dillon Whisman added scoring runs ranging from 5 to 49 yards. For Sheridan (0-3), Jose Hernandez had a 1-yard plunge for a touchdown.

MOUNTAIN RANGE 35, ALAMEDA 16: In Lakewood, Dylan Buonanato’s 37-yard touchdown run, his first of three for the game, sparked a 21-point first quarter as the Mustangs improved to 3-0 with a 3A nonleague victory over the Pirates at Trailblazer Stadium.

Buonanato added scoring runs of 14 and 51 yards.

For Alameda (1-2), Alex Nguyen ran 3 yards for a touchdown and Vick Nguyen threw for another score, 21 yards to Devin Dergoroy.

BURLINGTON 69, SOUTH PARK 8: In Fairplay, the visiting Cougars, ranked No. 2 in 1A, scored 50 points in the first quarter in a South Central opener.

Brock Rhoades ran for 102 yards and scored touchdowns on five of his six attempts. Burlington improved to 3-0, 1-0.

For South Park (0-3), its losing skid was extended to 26 games, the longest current streak in the state. The Burros’ Tyler Blair threw a 73-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Ruddle in the second quarter for their only score. Next weekend, the Burros will be at Limon.

BYERS 52, CRIPPLE CREEK-VICTOR 0: In Byers, the Bulldogs rolled to a 46-0 halftime lead behind three touchdown passes from Jordan Dodge, two to Eric Steitz, in the 1A South Central. Ranked No. 4 in 1A, Byers (3-0, 1-0) also got a 69-yard interception return from Steitz. Cripple Creek-Victor dropped to 0-3, 0-1.

MIAMI-YODER 20, CALHAN 8: In Rush, the Buffaloes, under new coach Don McGatlin, moved to 2-1, 1-0 with a victory over the Bulldogs (2-1, 0-1) in the 1A South Central.
