Patty Murray of Boulder finished third in the 1,500 meters in the 40-44 age group at the world masters track and field championships last week in Riccione, Italy. Murray ran a personal-best of 4 minutes, 39.68 seconds.
Cathy Nicoletti of Nederland was sixth in the 400 (55.59 seconds) in the 55-59 age group.
TRIATHLON: Golf tourney to benefit disabled triathlete
A benefit golf tournament will be held Sunday at Mountain Vista Golf Course in Fort Collins for Trish Downing, the disabled triathlete who is trying to qualify for this year’s Kona Ironman. Downing will compete soon in Australia hoping to achieve the time she needs to qualify for Hawaii.
