DALLAS—T.J. Hensick scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period and added two assists to help the Colorado Avalanche remain unbeaten in three preseason games with a 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night.
With the score tied 3-3, Hensick struck on a power play at 7:16 of the final period. Kyle Cumiskey added a power-play goal at 14:03 to stretch Colorado’s lead to 5-3. Cody McLeod added an empty-netter with 1:15 remaining for the final margin.
Sergei Zubov gave the Stars (1-1-1) a 3-2 lead 47 seconds into the third period, but Jordan Leopold tied it for the Avalanche with a power-play goal nearly 1:30 later.
Eric Healey had two goals and an assist for Colorado. Vadim Khomitski and Mike Modano added goals for Dallas.
