Boulder Police say a missing 16-year-old girl has returned safely home.

But they haven’t released any additional details about where Abby Borkovec had been or even whether she knew she had been reported as missing.

Borkovec was reported missing by her grandmother on Thursday afternoon.

Borkovec’s grandmother told police that the girl left a note saying she was taking the bus to Firestone to stay with a friend for the weekend. The grandmother said this was not unusual and it was a trip Borkovec has taken many times. However, the teen never arrived at her friend’s house. Bus drivers who work the usual route Borkovec takes also could not recall whether she was on the bus Thursday.

The police said Borkovec suffers from migraines that have caused blackouts in the past. Police said her grandmother believed Borkovec did have a headache and it was possible she boarded the wrong bus.
