Entire spygate scenario stinks

After the San Diego-New England game, Patriots owner Robert Kraft gave the game ball to Bill Belichick. Was this the award for “top spy” of the year? Then Kraft thumbed his nose at commissioner Roger Goodell to remind him that “I pay your salary.” What arrogance. It is inconceivable that no one in the Kraft family knew of the illegal activity. Goodell just took their word for it. We need a new – and HONEST – commissioner.

Luck of an Irishman

Everyone thinks Mike Shanahan was brilliant for icing Sebastian Janikowski’s first kick with a timely timeout. Then he missed the second effort. What if it were reversed? The first kick sails wide, as Shanahan signals time out, and Janikowski coolly puts the second kick right down the middle of the uprights? Fans would be second-guessing Shanahan for a bad decision. Interesting how results define best guesses.
