Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said quarterback Jay Cutler and safety John Lynch were undergoing MRIs today to determine the severity of injuries they suffered Sunday against Jacksonville.

Shanahan said he will know more details by Wednesday about each player’s prognosis for playing next Sunday at Indianapolis.

Early indications are that Lynch’s injury could be more serious because he missed more than half the Jaguars’ game with a groin injury.

Cutler suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday’s game but did return. He had only a minor limp during the game. Cutler’s injury was described by the team as minor.

Cutler said he should be able to play Sunday. “Everything is fine,” he said.
