Sean Conway, chief of staff for Republican U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, is expected to announce that he is running for Weld County Commissioner on Oct. 8.
Roy Palmer, executive director of government and regulatory affairs for Xcel Energy, and his wife, Linda, are holding a fundraiser for Conway on Oct. 6 at their Highlands Ranch home.
Allard will retire after his second term ends next year.
