Say, didn’t you used to be the AFC West?

The Broncos got worked by Jacksonville on Sunday, but the day wasn’t a total loss. The Chargers lost, too. Or should I say the Performers Formerly Known as the Chargers?

San Diego is showing signs of weakness on the field and discontent off it. To wit: TV cameras caught LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers arguing on the sideline during a loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field.

Of course, L.T. denied that he and his quarterback were arguing. They were “competitive talking,” Tomlinson said. As in arguing.

The point is, the Chargers aren’t the same 14-2 team they were in 2006. Not unless they reel off 13 straight wins, which isn’t going to happen.

And while we’re on the subject, the Chiefs, another 2006 playoff team, aren’t the same team, either. And the Raiders have the same 1-2 record as the Chiefs and Chargers.

Add it up and you’ve got a shaky division, one in which every team has been outscored. But you’ve also got a division that can be won.

Question is, are the Broncos, with all those new faces on the field and in the coaches’ box, up to the challenge?
