Two men have been charged with 10 counts of smuggling humans after they were arrested Sept. 19 by the Colorado State Patrol.
Miguel Velasquez-Garcia, 26, and Guadalupe Arce-Tennez, 19, were stopped by troopers on Interstate 70 near the Genesee exit.
Troopers said they found 10 passengers inside the van who were believed to be in transit to Chicago. Court documents said the people in the van said they were from Mexico and did not have U.S. citizenship paperwork.
Both men are being held at the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bond each. They have until Oct. 5 to schedule a preliminary hearing.
