Welcome to a new day at The Denver Post. With a nine-month conversion to our new presses now complete, we are implementing some content and design changes that are detailed on this page.
The press conversion has resulted in a slightly smaller page size, which is becoming standard in our industry. But these presses give us the chance to revolutionize our look and presentation.
The first thing I am sure you’ve noticed is the greater use of color throughout your paper. We are bolder and livelier and reflect more effectively the world in which we live.
This marks the second significant change to the look of The Post in the past five years. Every section is being upgraded to take advantage of our new capacity for color. And we will continue to evolve while retaining the essence of The Post as the most trusted and authoritative source for news, information and entertainment in the Rocky Mountain West.
So please check out the changes we’ve made and feel free to contact us via the information at the bottom of this page. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Gregory L. Moore, editor
Topic pages
In early September, The Post began its daily “Campaign 2008” page, a political report on the race for the White House. We will continue that and, on occasion, use the format to report on other topics in the news.
Daily 2A
In addition to a focused report on the big national or world news of the day, there will be an index to the more interesting and important stories in the rest of the paper. You will now find our corrections on this page every day.
Sunday 2A
Sunday 2A features a photo essay called “In Focus” that tells a story you likely are not seeing anywhere else. The page also includes a “numbers” story and an index to the paper and our online site.
Ad Scene
We are moving “people” news out of our daily features section to a page called “Daily Scene” in Denver & The West. This page will also feature Bill Husted’s column, concert and theater reviews and previews as well as Q&A’s with visiting dignitaries and authors. We will also tell you about interesting local events in case you want to go.
Sports
We’ve repackaged Page 2 with a feature called “Off and Running.” It begins at the top with the popular “Water Cooler” feature and continues with the quote of the day, briefs from around the world of sports and a standing feature that rotates day to day.
Entertainment
We are combining our 7days and Screen sections into one robust and more convenient entertainment guide in Friday’s paper. Whether it be family fun, movie reviews, a report on the club scene or any of the hot shows to see in any season, this is the place to read all about it.
