In a surprise move, the Broncos today cut wide receiver and returnman Domenik Hixon from its roster and replaced him with Brian Clark, Mike Shanahan said.
The Broncos had high hopes for Hixon as a go-to punt and kick returner. Through four games this season, Hixon returned 12 kickoffs for 274 yards, a 22.8-yard average. On punt returns, Hixon ran seven for 32 yards, a 4.6-yard average.
Clark, a second-year pro, was waived by the team Saturday after listing as inactive the first three games this season.
