DENVER—A Brighton man is dead after a car crashed into the motorcycle he was riding on a Weld County road.
The Colorado State Patrol says 55-year-old Randolph Turnbull died on arrival Wednesday night at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton. A passenger, 51-year-old Bonnie Turnbull, suffered serious injuries.
She was airlifted to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver.
The riders were not wearing helmets.
The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m. on Weld County Road 37, as the driver of a Toyota Corolla tried to turn left onto County Road 8.
The Toyota driver, 34-year-old James Hayward of Brighton, suffered moderate injuries.
He faces a charge of careless driving causing death.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspects as factors in the crash.
