LOUISVILLE, Ky.—A Colorado woman has struck gold bowling at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in China.
Jessica Haggerty, 30, of Elizabethtown, Ky., rolled a 639 three-game series in the doubles competition to take home a gold medal along with her partner, Lorraine Grimm of Longmont, Colo.
Haggerty also won a silver medal in another bowling event.
The games, which are taking place in Shanghai, China, run through Oct. 12. There are more than 7,000 athletes from 169 countries competing.
