KEYSTONE, Colo.—Skiers and snowboarders lined up at Arapahoe Basin today to be the first to hit the slopes this season.
The resort reports an 18 inch base of snow on its intermediate High Noon run. Highs are expected to be in the 40s today at the resort on the Continental Divide.
It’s the resort’s earliest opening in its 61-year history.
Arapahoe Basin traditionally competes with Loveland to be the first resort to open in Colorado each year. Last year Arapahoe Basin opened on Oct. 13.
