FORT MORGAN — Law enforcement authorities in Morgan County have recaptured a burglary suspect who escaped from an interview room and fled from the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Jim Crone says 20-year-old Shelby Allen escaped about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday from a room at the sheriff’s department where he was being interviewed.
He was caught later in the afternoon in the nearby town of Brush.
He had been last seen wearing orange jail pants near a school.
Fort Morgan School District officials placed all schools on external lockdown, but dismissed at the normal time.
