It’s just model behavior for Abby McCary and Shantel Wislawski.
The Denver-raised mannequins are featured in this month’s Maxim dressed as the devil and an angel.
McCary is generally acknowledged as Denver’s most beautiful model. Repped locally by Donna Baldwin, she graced the cover of Bloom magazine last year – and snapped many heads during her short stint as a hostess at NoRTH restaurant.
She’s moved on to bigger coastal markets, along with fellow Baldwin model Wislawski.
In Maxim, Wislawski is dressed as an angel and McCary as the devil, at Tryst Night Club at the Wynn in Las Vegas. The one-page profile of the duo describes their “naughty” sides.
Admits Abby, 25: “A girlfriend and I thought it’d be funny to put on ski masks and enter a 24-hour Walgreens as ninjas. Until 12 cops came in, guns drawn.”
Shantel, 23, says: “I once challenged every guy in the bar to a drinking contest, I paid for my victories the next day.”
You’ll be seeing a lot more of this Denver duo. Lots.
Boss of shirts. These are heady days for Rockmount Ranch Wear president Steve Weil. He turns 50 with a party at the Cactus Club on Oct. 20.
The wardrobe coordinator for Eddie Murphy’s movie “NowhereLand” keeps buying up Rockmount shirts to dress Thomas Haden Church and Bruce McGill.
But Weil was blown away Sunday night watching “60 Minutes.” Reporter Scott Pelley conducted a long interview with Bruce Springsteen – and Pelley was wearing a denim Rockmount shirt! No. 6790-D in fact. Weil was able to contact Pelley.
“I’ve been buying Rockmount shirts from the Denver store for many years,” Pelley wrote back to Weil. “I have a wardrobe of them. Jane (Pelley) wants me to throw the ones out with holes in them but I refuse. I often give Rockmount Ranch Wear as gifts.”
Ouch! Ch. 9’s Kim Christiansen emceed Tuesday’s Neiman Marcus Escada fashion show for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Before the runway show, she commented to the crowd on how thin the young models were. “There are not enough spanks in the world for me to look like that,” she said.
What? Kim Christiansen gets spanked?
“We all like spanks but we don’t admit it, but I just did,” she continued. Seems she was talking about Spanx, “high-waisted, tight-end tights” that slim women’s figures.
Hey, what do guys know about Spanx?
