MONTROSE, Colo.—Federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were assisting Montrose authorities investigating an explosion about two blocks from the town’s high school.

No injuries were reported in the explosion on the back of a truck that happened at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn told the Daily Sentinel Thursday.

“Some sort of explosive device was placed on the truck,” Chinn told the said. “It wasn’t inside the cab but put on the vehicle itself.”

The truck, which didn’t sustain that much damage, was probably still drivable, Chinn said, adding that the case appeared “solvable.”
