A 23-year-old Colorado Springs man severely injured his 21-day-old son and has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
Michael Douglas was arrested Thursday after his wife brought their child to an emergency room with a fractured skull and severe bleeding of the brain, according to a report from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The injured baby was flown to Children’s Hospital in Denver, where he remains in critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The incident is being investigated by detectives with the homicide and crimes against children units of the police department.
Police said the injuries likely occurred in an apartment in the 1000 block of South Chelton Road.
