Historic Manor House in Jefferson County will be pulled off the market as a legal battle involving funds used to purchase the property plays out.
Denver District Court Judge Robert McGahey Jr. will appoint a receiver to manage the property, owned by T&T LLC, which defaulted on the mortgage for the house.
Re/Max Alliance listed the property this month for $9.5 million. Manor House has been operated as an upscale restaurant and event center since 1990.
Michael Shinn, founder of the now-defunct National Home Buyers Assistance Corp., is executive director of T&T but not an owner. The company is controlled by his children.
Two former employees of National Home Buyers Assistance and another man who lent money to the company say company money was used to buy the Manor House and that they’re owed a stake in the sale.
The Shinns paid $2.4 million for Manor House in March 2006. They spent about $600,000 renovating it, but financial troubles cut their plans short.
