When beer columnist Dick Kreck retired from The Post in June, we didn’t fill his mug with just one beer reviewer, but three. Doug Brown, Barry Osborne and Marcus Chamberland now share the heavy lifting that is drinking and critiquing beer. Marcus, a copy editor here at the paper, started a blog, Foam on the Range, just in time for the Great American Beer Fest in Denver this past weekend.
New blog: Foam on the Range (blogs.denverpost.com/foamontherange)
Wow! A beer blog that will seem to be done in good taste! I’m looking forward to your comments (and everybody else’s) about the Denver beer scene. I am a transplant (from Michigan four years ago) also, and I am amazed at the number of breweries here. My goal is to visit every one in the state and already I’ve been to quite a few.

Our favorite coffee shop is Dragonfly Coffee and Tea on South Boulder Road in Louisville. They also use Kaladi Bros. coffee. The atmosphere at the Dragonfly is beautiful, friendly and comfortable. Their baristas are well trained too! Check out Blyth on Wednesday and Friday mornings. They offer a specialty mate (MAH-tay) drink there called Cocoa Mate D’Latte … yum!

Re: Meateaters, meet heaven dining review, Oct. 10 ($42.99 all-you-can-eat. $29.99 for just the buffet)
Wow – that’s pricey for a chain restaurant with only OK food. If it’s one thing we should all be learning from the obesity problem in this country is that most of the time less is more. I’d rather spend that kind of money for a reasonably sized meal of higher quality – Z Cuisine or Fruition, for example.
