According to Internet recruiting sites, Colorado football coach Dan Hawkins has landed an oral commitment from one of the nation’s top high school running backs.
Ray Polk, a 6-foot, 195-pound senior at Phoenix Brophy Prep, told that he called Hawkins with the news.
As a junior, Polk rushed for 1,423 yards and 22 touchdowns. Clocked at 4.47 for 40 yards at a national high school combine, Polk is rated by Rivals as a four-star prospect and the nation’s 11th-best running back.
According to Rivals, Polk also considered Michigan, Arizona State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Oregon State and Washington.
