AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Greg Flynn had a goal and an assist as Air Force defeated Quinnipiac 3-1 Saturday night for head coach Frank Serratore’s 200th career victory.
The Falcons (2-0) defeated the Bobcats (0-2) 4-1 Friday night.
Quinnipiac outshot Air Force 22-16 Saturday but couldn’t capitalize.
Michael Mayra scored a power-play goal in the first period to take an early 1-0 lead. Goals by Jeff Hajner and Flynn within a minute of each other in the third period made it 3-0.
David Marshall scored at 12:05 of the third period to get the Bobcats on the scoreboard. Quinnipiac played with an empty net the final three minutes but couldn’t score.
Peter Vetri stopped 13 shots for Quinnipiac. Andrew Volkening made 21 saves for Air Force.
Serratore’s career wins include 151 at Air Force. He needs four more wins to become the coach with the most wins ever in Air Force hockey history.
