Don’t look now, but the Regis Raiders, who three weeks ago stunned Doug- las County for their first win of the season, have won three of their past four.
The Raiders made two first-quarter touchdowns by Dustin Croy hold up in a 14-13 Continental League victory over Chaparral at Douglas County Stadium.
Croy opened the scoring with a 4-yard run and later caught a 9-yard TD pass from quarterback Spencer Jackson. In all, Croy finished with 84 yards (63 rushing, 21 receiving).
Regis (3-5) closes out the regular season next week against Arapahoe. Chaparral (1-7) will need a win against Rangeview to try to get into the 32-team Class 5A playoff field.
Denver Christian 24, Clear Creek 7
DENVER — Denver Christian kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a victory over Clear Creek’s Golddiggers to improve to 3-2 in the Colorado League.
John Lenderink caught a 42-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter to put the Crusaders (3-5) up for good.
Mark Moore led Clear Creek (4-4 overall, 1-4 league) with a touchdown pass.
Limon 21, Byers 20
BYERS — The game of the day went to Limon.
Class 1A’s No. 3 Badgers upended previously unbeaten No. 2 Byers and claimed at least a share of the South Central League title in the process.
Limon (7-1, 6-0) went ahead in the fourth quarter on a Matt Brown 50-yard run and then held on as Byers (7-1, 5-1) missed a 35-yard field goal with 1:10 to play.
Silver St. Christian 28, Vail Christian 0
MORRISON — The Patriots wrapped up an undefeated regular season and Central Division title with a victory over the visiting Saints.
Joey Achenbach scored all four Silver State touchdowns and finished with 210 yards on 33 carries.
Peetz 99, Pawnee 50
PEETZ — No the score isn’t wrong.
Class A 6-man’s top-ranked Bulldogs recorded the highest offensive output in recent memory with a win over Pawnee.
The Bulldogs totaled 783 yards of offense, including 462 yards rushing.
