The Adams State men’s and women’s cross country teams won Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships Saturday at Hillcrest Golf Course in Durango.

The Grizzlies men’s team won its fourth RMAC title in the past five years and its 30th overall. Paced by sophomore Aaron Braun, who earned individual medalist honors by completing the 8K course in 25 minutes, 16.64 seconds, the Grizzlies scored 33 points. Western State was second with 44 points, followed by Colorado Mines (72), Metro State (116) and New Mexico Highlands (122).

Western State’s Scott Dahlberg finished second in 25:17.31. Adams State teammates Reube Chebon-Mwei, at 25:21.92, and Brian Medigovich, 25:25.41, finished third and fourth, respectively.

In the women’s division, Adams State won a sixth consecutive team title and its 21st championship since 1981. The Grizzlies’ 22 points topped Western State (50 points), Nebraska-Kearney with 114, Mesa State with 127 and Colorado-Colorado Springs with 178.

Adams State’s Brittany Somers earned medalist honors, finishing the 6K course in 22:33.50. Adams State coach Damon Martin was named the RMAC cross country coach of the year.
