The University of Denver women’s basketball team was picked to finish second in the Western Division of the Sun Belt Conference in a preseason poll. The DU men’s team was picked to finish seventh.
The Pioneer women received three first-place votes and a total of 70 points, and Alisha Godette of Colorado Springs was named to the preseason All-SBC second team.
The DU men’s team received 13 points.
The Louisiana-Monroe men’s team was picked to win the Western Division, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock received 76 points to top the women’s poll.
