Colorado State sophomore Dustin Morris shot a third-round 75 to earn a third-place finish at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate golf tournament on the Saticoy Country Club course in Somis, Calif. It was Morris’ career-high finish and propelled the Rams to fourth place with 937 in the 12-team field.

Pepperdine finished first in the team standings at 905, led by Andrew Putnam’s second-place finish at 226. Georgia State’s Joel Sjoholm earned medalist honors with 225.

Colorado finished eighth. CU’s Michael Baird was 23rd with a 236 total.

Pioneers seventh in golf tourney. Denver’s Jeff Koprivetz and Daniel Wax finished tied with a three-round total 226 for 22nd place at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational golf tournament on the Willow Glen Course in El Cajon, Calif.

The Pioneers were seventh in a field of 17 teams. DU’s Chris Gilman was one shot behind Koprivetz and Wax at 227. Wichita State’s Ryan Spears earned medalist honors at 11-under-par 215 to lead the Shockers to a first-place finish.

Air Force was 15th and Wyoming 16th, as the Falcons’ Jack Kasting shot 229 and Michael May 230.
