Washington Park and the Denver Skatepark have been named 10Best Bet award winners by 10Best Inc., a highly used Internet service that provides destination information on more than 450 cities worldwide.

Washington Park was named one of 10 “Reasons to Return” to Denver.

The Denver Skatepark was named one of the 10 MP3 Placelists in the city – places to go for listening to music.

“The people of Denver have known for years of the unique beauty and appeal of Washington Park, and we are excited that now, the rest of the country will know about it,” said Kim Bailey, manager of Denver’s Parks and Recreation Department. “It is also fitting for such a progressive award to be given to our skate park.”

Washington Park, which Parks and Recreation says is considered one of Denver’s most beautiful, offers 165 acres of trails, flower beds and meandering paths.

City officials said there are 54 flower beds in the park, with one of the most distinct being a replica of Martha Washington’s garden at Mount Vernon, Va., constructed in 1926.
