What is the 60/30/10 rule and how does it relate to space design?

Aesthetically, 60 percent of your room is the color on the walls, so it needs to be just right. Thirty percent of your room is the color in the upholstery, and 10 percent is the accessories, or the jewelry like a chandelier or a piece of sculpture. If you apply this rule (to space planning), your rooms will never look overdone.
