Getting your player ready...
The Broncos got a huge lift to start their practice week Wednesday.
For the first time since last season, Rod Smith joined them in practice.
On the “physically unable to perform” list while recovering from major hip surgery in February, Smith received loud applause from the defensive backs on every catch he made during the passing warm-up drills.
The team must activate the Broncos’ all-time leading receiver by Nov. 14 or place him on the injured reserved list that would end his season and possibly his career. Smith, 37, seemed to be slightly favoring the hip as he ran Wednesday.
