The body of a 34-year-old Thornton man was found today at a park in Boulder County, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a suspicious-vehicle report at in the parking lot of Buckingham Park in the 3000 block of Lefthand Canyon in unicorporated Boulder County at about 9:30 a.m., according to a news release.
“The vehicle was checked because it had been seen there for a few days in a row,” Sgt. Kevin Parker said. “The vehicle was unlocked with the man’s wallet and other possessions inside. It just seemed kinda odd.”
The sheriff’s department searched the area with the help of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, the City of Boulder Parks and Open Space, Front Range Rescue Dogs and the Lefthand Fire Department .
The body was found on a hillside north of the parking lot at about 12:30 p.m.
The death is being investigated, but foul play is not suspected, officials said.
The identity of the man is being withheld until his family has been notified.
