A mid-day rally honoring the National League Champion Colorado Rockies will be held Wednesday at Skyline Park.

The city of Denver and the Downtown Denver Partnership, which are sponsoring the event, said the rally is to celebrate the Rockies and provide fans an opportunity to express their appreciation to the team.

Attending will be Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter, Rockies Manager Clint Hurdle, and a number of Rockies players, including Matt Holliday, Jeff Francis and Garrett Atkins.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Opie Gone Bad.

The event will begin at 11:45 a.m. The park is located at 15th and Arapahoe streets.
