A man attacked a woman and then grabbed her 2-year-old daughter at about 7:50 a.m. today, the child’s mother told Aurora investigators.
The assault and attempted kidnapping took place in the 1500 block of Macon Street as the woman was walking south, said Aurora Detective Shannon Lucy.
The woman said the assailant punched her in the chest, grabbed the child and ran but dropped the girl after the mother gave chase.
The man was last seen running east on Colfax Avenue.
The suspect is described as about 20, dark-skinned with green or hazel eyes. He was dressed entirely in black.
The child had no apparent marks or injuries, and the mother was checked at a hospital and released, Lucy said.
