Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 heading to the Eisenhower Tunnel have been reopened.
Multiple accidents on both sides of the tunnel caused havoc on the highway this morning and the road was shut down, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The area was hit with on and off snow and the roads are wet and slushy with icy patches, Towne said.
The chain law is in effect for truckers.
