A man attacked a woman and then grabbed her 2-year-old daughter about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, the child’s mother told Aurora police investigators.
The assault and attempted kidnapping took place in the 1500 block of Macon Street and occurred as the woman was walking south on Macon Street, Aurora Detective Shannon Lucy said.
The woman said the man punched her in the chest, grabbed the child and ran but dropped the child after the mother gave chase.
The man was last seen running east on East Colfax Avenue.
The child had no apparent marks or injuries and the mother was checked and released from a hospital, Lucy said.
