Northglenn police today arrested a woman who they said confessed to shooting a man in the head, killing him.

Just after 1 p.m. today, officers received a call about a man who had been shot at a home in the 1400 block of Coring Place. While officers were en route to the home, a woman told a police dispatcher that she had shot the man, the Northglenn Police Department said in a news release.

When officers reached the home, they found the man lying motionless with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers took the woman into custody, and police are treating the case as a homicide.

The names of the victim and suspect were not released.
