AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Air Force scored five goals in the third period to win 6-2 over Mercyhurst on Saturday night.
Mercyhurst took an early 2-0 lead as Matt Pierce scored on an odd-man rush 52 seconds into the game, and Matt Fennell scored on a power play at the 8:14 mark of the first period.
Brett Nylander scored at 11:20 in the first period to get Air Force on the board.
The second period was scoreless before Matt Becker, Blake Page and Scott Kozlak scored their first career goals to give Air Force a 4-2 lead.
Greg Flynn scored on a power play at 10:41 in the third, and Eric Ehn put in a rebound of a shot by Brent Olson that hit the crossbar for a 5-on-3 goal in the closing seconds.
Ryan Zapolski made 37 saves for Mercyhurst, which was outshot by Air Force 43-18.
Andrew Volkening had 16 saves.
Mercyhurst beat Air Force 5-3 Friday.
