For the record: CSU 1-8 overall, 1-5 in Mountain West; New Mexico 6-3, 3-2.

Streaking: Until the 37-0 loss to TCU on Saturday, New Mexico hadn’t been shut out since 2002.

Who’s hot: Lobo basketball. 11,980 turned out for new coach Steve Alford’s exhibition debut, a 94-50 thumping of Eastern New Mexico.

Who’s not: Previously hot New Mexico offense. TCU held Lobos to 28 net yards rushing and 2-for-16 on third-down conversions.

Key stat: As a freshman, Donovan Porterie came of age against the Rams last season, setting up the winning field goal as time expired. He was 7-of-23 for 76 yards in Saturday’s loss.

FYI: New Mexico is the last MWC team except for UNLV to fall to CSU (35-25, Oct. 28, 2005).

Coachspeak: “He played horrible. I don’t know what was wrong with him. But he wasn’t the only one out there that played bad.” UNM coach Rocky Long, on Porterie
